NEW ENERTEX® RGB+CCT LED DIMMER (20A / 5 channels)) Finally a simple way to manage RGB and color temperature!
The German manufacturer Enertex presents its unique dimmer for LED strips KNX LED Dimmsequenzer 20A/5x with unique features on the market.
Â
This novelty is a great advantage! Now, with LED strips that include RGB+CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) technology we have the opportunity to combine the RGB part with the cool white and warm white control part, automatically generating softer colors and a wider white range, among many other functions.
Â
Until now, for RGBW lighting, a dedicated RGB color adjustment component independent of the color temperature or white component was required, where the adjustment had to be performed on each of them individually, i.e. in 2 steps. Now, the RGB+CCT technology allows to manage colors and white light in an improved way compared to the usual way.
Enertex has been the first to introduce this mode to the market in the current generation of KNX devices and calls it "RGB extended" and "TW extended".
For the examples described below, RGB+CCT LED strips are considered, which have 3 emitting diodes: One diode with 3 colors for RGB and another 2 white light diodes to achieve dimming within the range of approximately 2,700K to 6,000K.
EXAMPLE OF "EXTENDED RGB":
- Requirement: To achieve a Smoothed Blue tone, taking into account the white tones:
- Normal solution: In normal RGB application or when automatic blending is disabled, to achieve this effect, you have to reduce the saturation, i.e. it is achieved by setting the Blue color to 100% and blending the R and G channels by 50% each.
- Solution with Enertex: Allows the two white channels to be mixed automatically when the saturation of a color value is lowered. This results in a "nicer" white tone than the white tone mixed by the RGBW colors, achieving softer colors, avoiding adjusting the saturation.
The calculation of the color values and the mixing of the white channel is done internally in the device and does not have to be parameterized by the user. Only the desired color temperature of the white LEDs has to be specified.
EXAMPLE OF "EXTENDED TW":
- Requirement: Extend the white range at the lower and upper end of those allowed by the LED strip whites (2,700K to 6,000K):
- Solution with Enertex: The "Extended-TW" application makes it possible to extend the color temperature range of the adjustable white channel by automatically mixing the R, G and B color channels in the same channel, in addition to the temperature values of the two white channels. The user does not have to perform any complex calculations or tests with each individual luminaire. Only the light temperature of the white LEDs has to be specified. The Enertex algorithm automatically determines the optimum control.
Parameterization:
- Warm white color temperature: 2,700 K
- Cool white color temperature: 6,000 K
- Minimum value: 1,000 K
- Maximum value: 10,000 K
Â
With TW-Extended, by mixing the three RGB color channels, the warm white range is extended down to 1,000 K and the cool white range is extended up to 10,000 K.
So if you are looking for a LED strip for environments where there is indecision about which LED strip to install (RGB, white temperature control, etc..) or you need a control with automatic white balance or HCL (Human Centric Light), then the combination of RGB+CCT LED strips together with the Enertex dimmer is just what you need.
Among many other features, it can control up to 5 RGB+CCT channels and up to 20 A in total* and with a maximum cable length of 50 m* between the dimmer and the lamp (*see configuration in data sheet).
It also supports scenes, sequences, time and day controlled color temperature control (HCL) as well as KNX Data Secure.

NEW MDT SAFETY MODULE
The new security module SCN-SAFE.01 prevents all ETS access to a KNX installation: such as programming and deprogramming of bus devices on the KNX line.
This significantly increases the security of the line and makes it completely protected. It is no longer possible to manipulate the programming of the devices. The safety function starts automatically after bus voltage recovery / programming of the safety module.
Deactivation of the safety function is possible depending on the set safety level via the device control buttons and/or with the safety password via telegrams.
The integrated device control system also allows up to 100 KNX devices to be monitored continuously. When a KNX device is missing or stops responding due to a defect, an alarm message is sent.
Events such as an unauthorized programming process or a missing bus device are indicated by an alarm LED on the device, sent as an alarm object and additionally stored as a time-stamped plain text message in the internal memory of the security module.
FEATURES:
- Increases the security of the protected line and protects against tampering.
- Easy to install in existing KNX installations
- Locks the connection and prevents programming and downloading of KNX devices inside the line
- The safety function starts automatically after bus voltage recovery and/or programming of the safety module
- The safety function can be temporarily deactivated by pressing the device button or with a 14-byte telegram
- Monitoring function for detection of a faulty device on the line
- Active or passive monitoring of up to 100 KNX devices
- Alarm is stored as a plain text message in the device's internal memory
- Fast download of applications (long-frame support for ETS5)
- Production in Germany, certified according to ISO 9001 standard

ISE SMART CONNECT KNX Gateway: Now with KNX SECURE and VPN SERVER
In the latest update V6.1, the SMART CONNECT KNX Remote Access has a VPN server and a KNX Secure connection. This allows you to work on the remote LAN, not only KNX systems remotely, but any other system.
Many other advantages to be discovered:
1.Remote maintenance from anywhere
It has never been so secure and uncomplicated to connect to the KNX system remotely. You can forget about expensive house calls from your system integrator. Desired changes and system maintenance can be carried out quickly and individually, anywhere in the world – even while on the go.
2. Important events on your smartphone
Would you like to know whether everything is OK at home? Let your house tell you. You'll receive messages on your smartphone, e.g. when your smoke detector is activated or when someone rings your doorbell. You can decide whether you would like to be informed by telephone call, text message or e-mail. You can also receive images from the camera and values from the KNX (e.g. room temperature)
3. Remote access to your visualization
You can also access your web-based visualisation remotely, giving you an overview of your building at all times
4. VPN Server
The Remote Access acts as a VPN server with the integrated VPN feature. This allows you to work in the remote network without needing to make complicated router settings. Also, you can maintain not only KNX systems remotely, but any other system, too
5. Security
Decide who may access your system with the simple push of a button using our access and user management. Thanks to data transfer encryption, there’s no chance of prying eyes
6. Not accessible from outside?
Is the IP address of your connection not accessible from outside, e.g. a LTE or UMTS connection? No problem. Our solution works here, too. Unpack, connect and you’re ready to go
The SMART CONNECT KNX Remote Access simply connects to the LAN network. It then connects to the portal server (www.securedeviceaccess.net) automatically via your existing Internet connection. The communication between the Remote Access and the portal server is encrypted and secured with digital certificates.
With a LAN connection, you can now access almost all your network devices using the Internet. Access occurs directly via the SDA portal server or via the SDA client software (Windows).
But don't worry. The portal server is located in Germany and is subject to the German Data Protection Act.
If you already have a gateway, you can update it free of charge using the integrated function on the device's website.

NEW MDT BLIND ACTUATORS
It is worth mentioning the details of some of them:
- With Smart Sun Protection, the actuator calculates the current position of the sun, that is, the azimuth (angle of the sun) and the elevation (height of the sun) (previously receiving date / time and luminosity values from a weather station). In this way, the blinds can automatically switch to two shading positions depending on the position and strength of the sun. In the case of Venetian blinds, the slats can be adjusted automatically.
The automatic adjustment can be switched on and off at will and independently by blind. In this way, the position of the blinds can be taken into account according to the solar position and the possible shadows of the adjacent buildings.
- With the optimal use of energy for awnings, the position of the awnings can be controlled depending on the ambient temperature of a room. If the ambient temperature is below a threshold, the awning remains raised and the additional thermal performance of the sun is taken advantage of. If room temperature is reached, the awning moves down. Further heating of the room is avoided and the cooling energy of the room is saved.
- Extensive status information that allows to accurately represent different variables in any visualization:
o The current height position (1 byte)
o The current position of the slats (1 byte)
o The current / last address (1 bit),
o The status of the awning (1 bit),
o The upper and lower position (1 bit)
o The lockout / alarm status (1 bit).
- Diagnosis with plain text via14-byte objects. There is a 14-byte diagnostic object for the automatic positioning function, which sends the current status of the blind, such as on / off, the active brightness threshold and the calculated position of the sun, that is, the azimuth and the elevation. In addition, each channel has an individual diagnostic object that sends the last status of the channel. Here you can see if the channel is in alarm state, in ventilation position or in blocking function.
Diagnostic objects save a lot of time in checking and troubleshooting and make commissioning easier.
- Long frames support. When programming from the ETS5, Long frames are sent. These contain more parameters per telegram, which significantly reduces actuator programming time. This requires a programming interface that supports the transmission of long frames. For this, MDT also offers the programming interfaces IP Router SCN-IP100.02, IP Interface SCN-IP000.02 and USB Interface SCN-USBR.01.
