Welcome to the 1st International KNX Web Site Contest!
In Futurasmus KNX Group we work for the KNX Professionals, with them, supporting their work, helping out with their projects and now rewarding their effort.
Your web site is your window to the world and to your clients. For that reason, some KNX professionals take big pride in creating brilliant pages that are the result of lots and lots of work. Not only does it have to be attractive but also interesting and easy to surf trough. It is all about transmitting the advantages of KNX to end clients the best way.
That is why we have created and sponsored the I International KNX Web Site Contest, which is hopefully the first of many editions in the following years.
A jury of KNX experts will select the top 10 web sites among all participants and YOU (all web users) will vote the very best one.
The winner will be rewarded with a 2.000 € worth gift voucher, but that is not the only price. Manufacturers Elsner, Arcus and Iddero are sponsoring other price categories (Most original web site, Best web design, etc.). On top of that, also web users might win a gift voucher worth 500 € by casting their votes.
Of course, participating has no cost or implies no concession whatsoever and we hope it can be interesting for both participants and visitors. At the end of the day, we all have the same objective: promoting the international standard KNX.

KNX Tank Sensor, now more affordable
In the last edition of the light+building Elsner presented the KNX version of their well reputed conventional Tank Sensor, thus filling a big gap in the KNX product maket.
This Ultrasonic Probe is used for measurement of the fill level of liquids in tanks (spherical, rectangular and cylinder tanks) or for distance measurement (for rainwater cisterns, fuel tanks, fish ponds, wells, monitoring of parking distance of trucks…)
Its display directly indicates the distance/fill level. An additional acoustic alarm can also be emitted. Five switching outputs with adjustable threshold values are available via ETS.
Although very interesting, its original list price often forced KNX integrators to use conventional alternatives with much less possibilities. But we are glad to inform you that Elsner Elektronik has reduced its price significantly and it is now available for a list price of 499 € with excellent buying conditions for KNX professionals.

KNX manufacturer Lingg & Janke has been for more than a decade well known and appreciated by professionals for its actuators, which are definitely among the most reliable and robust in the market.
From switch actuators (6-fold and 12-fold, even with integrated power supply) to blind actuators (4-fold and 6-folf), not forgetting their great dimmers (2-fold 570W/VA and 4-fold 570W/VA or 300W/VA), they are always a good choice. Happy 20th Birthday!
In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the KNX Association, a joint event together with the KNX General Assembly was held in Brussels on the 14th & 15th February 2010.
Apart from a gorgeous dinner and celebration at the Atomium, all light up and shiny, some very important issues were presented in the KNX General Assembly, such as: Energy Efficiency, Smart Metering with KNX, the worldwide situation of KNX, etc.
We will inform you about everything. But, first of all, we would like to sum up the speech held by Mr. Godehardt Schneider, the president of the KNXA, in the following points:
• The ETS4 will be presented at the light+building, but unfortunately will not be ready to be launched in the market until the 20th October 2010. The manufacturers already started using the ETS MT Tool 4.0 (Manufacturing tool) and it seems to be much more user friendly and flexible than its forerunner. It is a plug-in into the well known programming environment Visual Studio and has very good xml import / export possibilities.
• Mr. Schneider also underlined the fact that Smart Metering is increasingly important and that the KNXA is doing everything in its power to promote the implementation of KNX into the different standards (CEN TC 294 – Battery powered meters, CLC TC 13 - Electric Meters, ETSI M2M – External communication, CLC TC 205 Link to smart home)
• For those who are interested in attending a KNX ground course, there is good news: after passing the exam and creating the online account, one will have the possibility to download a free ETS Trainee version from their account.
• It was also very pleasing to hear that approximately 500 ETS3 licenses / month were sold last year.
