Gira Instabus KNX / EIB
fan coil actuator
The Gira fan coil actuator is
used for the operation of ventilator
convectors (fan coil units),
implemented for room air conditioning.
The main components
of a fan coil unit are the heat exchanger,
the valves for the heating
and /or cooling medium and
the step-switched fan, which
quietly circulates the ambient air
past the heat exchangers. The
double pipe variation differs
from the quadruple pipe variation.
The difference: The double
pipe system heats or cools according
to requirements via a
shared water cycle, and the
quadruple pipe system features
separate flow and return for the
heating and cooling system.
Both systems are supported by
the Gira fan coil actuator. Depending
on the system and the
number of ventilator gradations,
the actuator can be used for up
to two ventilator convectors.
The actuator receives telegrams,
for example from room temperature
controllers, and converts
corrected variable telegrams
into equivalent ventilator gradations.
In addition, the fan coil
actuator controls the valves in
the ventilator convector that
open or close heating or cooling
as needed.
