NEW MDT SAFETY MODULE

The new security module SCN-SAFE.01 prevents all ETS access to a KNX installation: such as programming and deprogramming of bus devices on the KNX line.

This significantly increases the security of the line and makes it completely protected. It is no longer possible to manipulate the programming of the devices. The safety function starts automatically after bus voltage recovery / programming of the safety module.

Deactivation of the safety function is possible depending on the set safety level via the device control buttons and/or with the safety password via telegrams.

The integrated device control system also allows up to 100 KNX devices to be monitored continuously. When a KNX device is missing or stops responding due to a defect, an alarm message is sent.

Events such as an unauthorized programming process or a missing bus device are indicated by an alarm LED on the device, sent as an alarm object and additionally stored as a time-stamped plain text message in the internal memory of the security module.

In the latest update V6.1, the SMART CONNECT KNX Remote Access has a VPN server and a KNX Secure connection. This allows you to work on the remote LAN, not only KNX systems remotely, but any other system.

It has never been so secure and uncomplicated to connect to the KNX system remotely. You can forget about expensive house calls from your system integrator. Desired changes and system maintenance can be carried out quickly and individually, anywhere in the world – even while on the go.

2. Important events on your smartphone

Would you like to know whether everything is OK at home? Let your house tell you. You'll receive messages on your smartphone, e.g. when your smoke detector is activated or when someone rings your doorbell. You can decide whether you would like to be informed by telephone call, text message or e-mail. You can also receive images from the camera and values from the KNX (e.g. room temperature)

3. Remote access to your visualization

You can also access your web-based visualisation remotely, giving you an overview of your building at all times

4. VPN Server

The Remote Access acts as a VPN server with the integrated VPN feature. This allows you to work in the remote network without needing to make complicated router settings. Also, you can maintain not only KNX systems remotely, but any other system, too

5. Security

Decide who may access your system with the simple push of a button using our access and user management. Thanks to data transfer encryption, there’s no chance of prying eyes

6. Not accessible from outside?

Is the IP address of your connection not accessible from outside, e.g. a LTE or UMTS connection? No problem. Our solution works here, too. Unpack, connect and you’re ready to go

The SMART CONNECT KNX Remote Access simply connects to the LAN network. It then connects to the portal server (www.securedeviceaccess.net) automatically via your existing Internet connection. The communication between the Remote Access and the portal server is encrypted and secured with digital certificates.

With a LAN connection, you can now access almost all your network devices using the Internet. Access occurs directly via the SDA portal server or via the SDA client software (Windows).

But don't worry. The portal server is located in Germany and is subject to the German Data Protection Act.

If you already have a gateway, you can update it free of charge using the integrated function on the device's website.

Iddero has just announced the new Iddero Mobile app which lets users control their VERSO+IP touch panels from smartphones and tablets.

The VERSO+IP is an evolution from the popular Iddero Verso 4,3” capacitive touch panel. The new model retains the elegant design, attractive visualisation, and advanced functionality of its predecessor, and adds an Ethernet port for IP connectivity. The VERSO+IP is available in white or black finish, and can be installed in portrait or landscape mode, either surface-mounted (on standard square or rounded wall mount boxes) or flush-mounted, using Iddero's E-F401 mounting adapter.

The Iddero Mobile app lets users control their VERSO+IP from smartphones and tablets. Both direct (LAN) connection and cloud-based operation are supported. No additional configuration is required: there is no need to worry about fixed IP addresses, dynamic DNS services, port forwarding, etc. The app automatically detects whether it can connect to the VERSO+IP directly over the home LAN; otherwise, it switches over to the cloud-based access service.

Setup of the Iddero Mobile app is straightforward. Users simply need to scan a QR code displayed by the VERSO+IP. The device is then linked to the user's idderocloud account, and will show up automatically on any smartphone or tablet where the user logs in; there is no need to repeat the linking procedure for every smartphone or tablet. Of course, as many devices as required can be linked to the same account.

The Iddero Mobile app closely mimics the user interface of the VERSO+IP, so no additional learning is required. Push notifications are supported and allow users to get notified immediately if an alarm is triggered, even if they are not actively using the app.

Needless to say, all communications are fully encrypted according to the latest security standards and recommendations.

The Iddero Mobile app is available now for Android devices through Google Play. An iOS version is under development and will be available soon.

During the last couple of years TCI has established itself as one of the most reliable manufacturer for high-quality and fine-looking touch displays for KNX visualizations.

Earlier modules only had the “push-to-talk” functionality, which allowed a door communication usage, but the user was not able to speak and listen at the same time. Now, a real hands-free speaker function is available in most of their displays.
