During the last couple of years TCI has established itself as one of the most reliable manufacturer for high-quality and fine-looking touch displays for KNX visualizations.

Earlier modules only had the “push-to-talk” functionality, which allowed a door communication usage, but the user was not able to speak and listen at the same time. Now, a real hands-free speaker function is available in most of their displays.

At the eltefa Fair in Stuttgart TCI also presented their new “contatto Audio & Video Communication”. Now you can use your TCI ambiento touch panel for integrated audio and video communication over VoIP, SIP and video streaming.

With contatto you have the following possibilities:
- Door communication functions (brand currently supported: Mobotix, Siedle, TCS and Baudisch Electronic)
- Security camera integration
- Room to room communication
- Internet phone

Thanks to a quick survey made among our clients, we have come to realize that very few know the RS-232/RS-485 Gateway from ARCUS. This KNX component has been available for a longer time now, but most KNX professionals are not familiar with it yet.

We have now decided to draw attention to it because it can be extremely useful in order to integrate conventional devices with serial port into KNX Systems in a very easy way.

It is not the only one in the market, but it does stand out due to the following features:

- The strings sent by the serial port might include the value of the group address they are triggered by.

- The strings received by the serial port might be analyzed in order to extract a value and send it as the value of the associated group address.

Manufacturer MDT releases new products nearly on a weekly basis. They have created an extensive catalogue in a relative short time.

Most of their products belong to the standard KNX program, the essential devices for a KNX installation (power supplies, switch actuators, binary inputs, etc.). Great functionality and even better price, with a 3 year warrantee.

Manufacturer Komtech played a leading role in the KNX market with their CF-Media system: the first Audio/Video controller which really offered a complete solution. Even though this system is extremely powerful and versatile, it was not that suitable for small or medium-sized installations due to its high price.

Now this manufacturers launches a new solution with limited features (more than enough for regular installations!) and with a very attractive price: 399,00 €.
